SPKA Kite Buggy Race Weekend
Sandhead, with its huge beach, attracts power kiting enthusiasts from all over Scotland and is hosted by the Scottish Power Kite Association.

Newton Stewart Walking Festival
WalkFest, the award-winning Newton Stewart Walking Festival, is now firmly established as the biggest walking festival in the South of Scotland. Galloway is a wonderful location for walking, and whether you enjoy the challenge of true hill walking experiences or lower level themed routes, there is sure to be something for everyone.

Dumfries and Galloway Arts Festival
Established as the region's premier calendar entertainments event since 1979, the Dumfries and Galloway Arts Festival is Scotland's largest rural multi-artform festival, with artists performing at events in venues across the full breadth of the region.

Kirkcudbright Jazz Festival
This year there is a distinct international flavour, with musicians travelling from central and southern France and Germany as well as from Holland and Switzerland to play in one of the favourite bands, the Kirkcudbright International All Stars and, new to the Festival, the exciting Jazz a Bichon (more on them below).

Newton Stewart & Minnigaff Traditional Music & Dance Festival 2018
Established in 2014 as an event that showcases some of the most respected musicians in traditional music, it is full of atmosphere with unforgettable concert performances, music and arts workshops, tune and song sessions all weekend, pipe band and dancing.
